It was an eventful weekend of racing all around the MARC. The majority of teams attended The Knecht Cup Regatta on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, NJ. Racing to the Grand Final in the Men’s Open Varsity 8+ Category and the Women’s DIII Varsity 4+ Final Event earned these crews of Crew of the Week title!
In the DIII Women’s Varsity 4+, Washington College placed 2nd in the Grand Final on Sunday after winning their heat on Saturday by open water with a time of 8:36.59. The 2nd fastest time in the heat was Stockton University with a time of 9:03.77. On Sunday, the Varsity 4+ battled down the course against Gordon College’s top 4+, earning a 2nd place medal in the event with a time of 8:14.47. Gordon won the event just 4 seconds ahead with a time of 8:10.02.
In the Men’s Varsity 8+ event at Knecht, Lehigh raced against tough competition across all divisions, earning a place in the Grand Final with a 3rd place finish and a time of 6:27.89. In the Grand Final event at Knecht, Lehigh raced competing crews MIT, Embry-Riddle, Trinity College, Mercyhurst and Stetson. Lehigh finished with a time of 6:11.55
